This one was really fun. It was my first semester of university at Tsinghua. I was studying biology. I felt quite lonely this first semester. It was a new place with new people in a system that was as new to me as it was unforgiving. I learned how to spend time with myself. I got in to biking around the city, exploring and finding joy in seeing new things. I still love people and being social but at that time I learned to be okay being alone. To me, this roll feels like a fresh beginning. Bright colors and modernity, but also the long history of China as the backdrop and setting. These pictures are very nostalgic for me and hopefully you know what I mean and can connect to these pictures. I think all of us know these transition periods and how strange they feel.
